Peter Dula & The Rowers Latest Single, "Long Gone Loner,"
Featuring Joe Diffie
Hits #3 on the HotDisc Chart

From Hockey Star to Cancer Survivor to Country Music Star to Battling Cancer Again-- Peter Dula, front man for The Rowers, Keeps His Dream Alive

Nashville, TN: Country music star Joe Diffie received news from his good friends Peter Dula & The Rowers that their latest single, "Long Gone Loner," which features Diffie, has reached the #3 position in the prestigious HotDisc Chart.  Dula, front man for the Slovakian country band, is battling cancer (for the second time) and is in the process of preparing for surgery.  He's reached out to his honky-tonk hero, Joe Diffie, for support, prayers, and friendship.

"Peter and I have become friends from across the pond and his strength in character is commendable," says Joe Diffie. "He is struggling with cancer and fighting the good fight. Peter is a true testament of a hero."

Peter Dula was born in Kosice, Slovakia in 1981. As a determined and talented young hockey player, he came to Boston in 1999 to play for a junior league, on a path to try out for the NHL. His plans suddenly changed when he was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin's Lymphoma). He was successfully treated in Boston over 6 months, and then returned home to Slovakia. Within a few months the disease returned, requiring Dula to undergo a year long ordeal with a bone marrow transplant.

While under cancer treatment, Peter picked up his father's old guitar, learned a few chords and a new passion and purpose started was born.  Over the last few years, Peter has developed his art and trade, now both fronting and managing Europe's top country band, The Rowers.

Despite his struggle with cancer, Peter Dula & The Rowers are in process of finishing their second album release while extensively touring Europe playing their growing collection of music that Dula has co-written. Recently their touring has been postponed due to relapse. Dula's cancer has returned, this time with an aggressive post-radiation sarcoma.

"Long Gone Loner,"the toe-tapping duet with country music legend and Grammy winner, Joe Diffie, was a dream come true for Dula. The song and its success have helped him get through some tough times. Letter from Duke Baseball team
Mr. Joe Diffie,

We're not sure if you'll receive this or think much of it but a few of us wanted to write you this letter to tell you how one of your songs has affected our team.

We are members of the 2007 Duke University Baseball team and one of your songs has literally revolutionized our team. It all started this past fall when our team would get together every Friday night and hang out at one of the player's apartment. Your song "John Deere Green" had been a well-liked song by a couple of our players since it was released, so we decided to play it while we were all hanging out. Sure enough, its catchy chorus caught on and we began to play it every time we got together. Then a couple of guys began to pump their fists in the air every time the words "John Deere Green" are played during the chorus. It wasn't long before our entire team knew all the words and would gather in the middle of every party and sing along as loud as possible while pumping our fists in the air with every chorus.

The song as revolutionized our team in many ways. It has contributed
greatly to our team camaraderie because it was those Friday nights, highlighted by the playing of "John Deere Green," that helped our friendships develop. It has become our team theme song and every time we take the field for home games, "John Deere Green" is playing while our names are announced. It has also contributed directly to a couple of our wins. We were trailing late in the game and our media guy played "John Deere Green" before we came to bat. We were all immediately energized and began singing along and pumping our
fists in the dugout. The energy created by the song helped swing the momentum in our favor and we scored the winning runs in the inning immediately following in both games. The song also started to spread throughout campus and began to be requested at the local clubs around Duke on the weekends.

Thank you for your time. We simply wanted to share our story and the
meaning of "John Deere Green" to our team.

Sincerely,

Membersof the 2007 Duke Baseball team
